It’s probably an understatement to say that the government deals with a good number of documents. And government agencies and organizations often have security and confidentiality requirements defined in compliance regulations that force them to adhere to strict guidelines when delivering this sensitive information.
Ranging from local to state to the federal level, the government requires a significant investment in tools to ensure its clients (the people) and their information are protected, especially when dealing with social security numbers, financial data, and other personally identifiable data.

Biscom Delivery Server is Web-based, only requiring a Web browser to access deliveries. No special software needs to be installed by recipients or senders, and is as easy to use as email. But behind the scenes, BDS is tracking all transactions – that is, all files being delivered, recipients who are picking up files, and all administrative changes to the system. BDS is also providing the security that authenticates users, encrypts all transmissions between the server and the client, and allows for automatic deletion of files.

A major healthcare research agency works with thousands of hospitals, clinics, research institutes, and other programs to provide grants, public health information, research material, and laboratory data. Using BDS, this organization can freely communicate with both these external entities as well as internal staff for any and all work that requires security and confidentiality. Because this agency regularly work with health information, HIPAA rules apply and it must ensure that only the intended recipients receive the data they need. And because of the range of skill level and knowledge of computers varies, providing an easy-to-use application was critical.
